- The point being that Amigas CAN do several things at the same time - and
- do them all genuinely. Mac and PC Operating Systems offer an emulation of
- this ability but don't truely do it. AmigaOS is the only OS of the bunch
- that was built from the beginning on a multimedia architecture WITH the
- ideas of Object Oriented Programming. The basis of ANY microsoft OS on
- the PC is still stuck with that poor excuse "I wrote it in 6 weeks as a
- class project" (and this is the truth) operating system. MacOS STILL has
- Pascal based data structures in the core of the 'kernel' and still deals
- out its files on the same 'written in two hours' (again - the truth - read
- your history on the MacOS) filesystem.
-
- Of course everyone in the real world wants faster processors - but in the
- world of the Amiga - one can make serious and professional advances without
- the aid of some brute force 'double the clock again sam' lo-tech chip - Like
- anything that is put out by Intel. And on the Mac - well - if you don't
- pound it with cpu - the rest of the hardware is beating on the cpu - and
- after the rest of the hardware gets done - then you have that just plain
- bad operating system.

- Easily smaller, better, faster and cheaper. That is because in order
- to develop something for the Amiga you don't have to pay outrageous
- tributes to a college dropout who has fantasies of being a movie
- producer. Not to mention you don't have to deal with those outrageously
- lame coding idealologies that occur in the core of MS code. If you have
- ever coded on the Mac - we don't even have to discuss it - you know that
- machine has no hope. If Sun would have bought them out - it would have
- been the best thing that ever happened to Apple. And the Mac.
-
- This is not even beginning to take into consideration that our applications
- are significantly smaller because of the forethought of those who created
- the Amiga. The mac and pc are each nothing more than garage projects that
- achieved popular status due to marketing - not because they could do anything
- of import or value.

- Whooops - According to tests (not to mention benchmarks done here locally)
- the Mac emulator running on the A4000 (from before the days of Escom) would
- run Mac software at speeds exceeding 4 times that of a very high powered
- Mac (this test was done between a Mac 840AV with the DSP chip and DSP filters
- against an A4000/25 with a broken write-back cache)
-
- Now - the PowerMac is not a serious increase in power over this tested
- Mac... Though the 060 IS a serious improvement over the 040. The PPC
- is by all means nothing special - it's popularity only developed by the
- hype of the combined manufacturers - not the quality of the device itself.
-
- Now consider what the equivalent Amigas could do compared to a Mac...
- Ever put an A3000 against a IIci? Or the A500 against the original
- Mac? Not to mention the A1000??? If you can sit there and tell me
- that the equivalent macs could do the same or better - you'd better
- check out what you're smoking a little more carefully. It's causing
- you serious brain damage.
-
- We won't even get into why the Amiga is a significant advance over the
- current PC. The PC hasn't really changed since it's introduction in the
- early 80's. The Amiga has changed a great deal under the same idea that
- it was born under because that idea was conceived with great forethought
- and vision.
